The door features 3/16" of solid steel. Not to mention the six one-inch in diameter steel locking bolts that prevent anyone from attempting to pry open the door. The heavy duty hinges allow the door to open a full 180 degrees. Two relockers are standard on the Sun Welding H48 Gun Safe. These prevent any tampering of the lock and hammering or drilling on the door of the safe. A heat activated Palusol door seal is also avaliable as a standard feature.

The interior inside the Sun Welding H48 Home Long Gun & Rifle Safe is a fully adjustable velour interior. The fire rating that comes standard on this safe is 60 minutes tested at 1200 degrees. Upgrades are available for 90 minutes and 120 minutes. Two pre-drilled mounting holes allow for the safe to be anchored into either concrete or wood.

The exterior features of the Sun Welding H48 Home Gun Safe include a solid steel 12 gauge body (1/9" thick). A single handle handle comes in either gold or black. Make sure to add 1 1/2" to the depth of the safe. A Sargent & Greenleaf Group II combination lock with day key comes standard. Electronic digital locks are available as an upgrade for an extra charge. Durable polyurethane paint comes in a variety of colors and the home safe logos come in gold, chrome or black finishes.

Sun Welding's matte finish is hand painted and finished with hand applied logos. Logo available in chrome, gold, or black. Standard with a single drop handle (adds 1.5" to depth), a finishing touch.

Sun Welding's independent mounted bolting system stops a wide variety of attacks. Using a cam drive system to gear the linkage these parts will not break under pressure. The Renegade Series offers ten 1" diameter locking bolts (5 active door side, 5 dead hinge side). With two re-lockers, protected by Armor Hard Plate and second 1/2" steel plate the security is reinforced.

Sun Welding gives the user the option of a UL listed group 2 combination mechanical lock or electronic lock. We offer a wide variety of manufactures from BigRed, S&G, LaGard, and SecuRam. In addition to EMP proof redundant style locks.

Every Sun Welding Safe exceeds the UL RSC and CA DOJ requirements. We tested out entry level safes to ensure the test requirements.

The fire insulation is used on all six sides of the safe. In addition heat sensitive expanding fire seal that swells up to eight times its size is used to fill in the space around the door. The fire rating test is completed by taking a safe and placing it in an oven that is 1200˚ for 'x' minutes. At 'x' minutes the internal temperature of the safe reaches 350˚. The actual burn time of the safe has many factors such as temperature of the fire and length of the fire.
